DDSN Commends South Carolina Nurses during National Nurses Week

The South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs commends the hard work and dedication of South Carolina’s nurses during National Nurses Week. The week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale's birthday.
“Over the past year, we have asked more of our nurses than ever before because of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Constance Holloway, interim state director. “I have immense respect for our nursing staff. They exemplify nursing values through the devotion and compassion they show to individuals with disabilities.”
DDSN employs a total of 158 nurses at our five Regional Centers that provide 24-hour care, supervision and treatment to DDSN’s most fragile individuals with the greatest need for support across the state. They have also played a key role during the pandemic response by performing testing, contact monitoring and contact tracing.

The MCC waiver is operated by SCDHHS.
