About 451,000 people in South Carolina suffer from substance-related problems that require immediate treatment. The BHDD Office of Substance Use Services (OSUS) offers prevention resources, local treatment and recovery services to these South Carolinians, as well as to individuals who are experiencing problems related to gambling addiction.

OSUS ensures the availability of a menu of treatment options through a system of state-licensed and nationally accredited service providers.
