BHDD Office of Mental Health Public Safety Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Friday, October 13th, BHDD Office of Mental Health Public Safety staff wore pink and uniformed officers wore pink ribbons in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
“We wanted to show our solidarity with and support for those directly or indirectly impacted by breast cancer,” said Public Safety Administrative Coordinator Chena Melvin.
The ribbons and the color pink are worn to raise awareness of breast cancer risks, the importance of screening and early detection, and treatment options available to women and men who are diagnosed with one of the many forms of breast cancer. Every year nearly 41,000 die from the disease.
