Practitioners new to the field of prevention, practitioners with longevity, and practitioners in other related fields.
The SAPST consists of two parts: an online course (approximately 5 hours) titled: Introduction to Substance Abuse Prevention: Understanding the Basics, followed by this four-day face-to-face training. This innovative training offers practitioners a comprehensive introduction to substance abuse prevention. Grounded in research and SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework, the SAPST helps practitioners develop the knowledge and skills needed to implement effective, data-driven prevention that reduces behavioral health disparities and improves wellness.
