Motivational Interviewing (MI) has been through many stages over the past 25 years. The goal of this one-day training is to introduce the most current information on MI that supports its efficacy as an evidence-based practice. Grounded in the underlying spirit of MI, the four-process model introduced in 2013 will be reviewed and its utility explored. Participants will be given the opportunity to learn the basic skill-set needed for MI, the underlying spirit and core building blocks, and how it may be utilized in both education and a variety of settings. Real-play and practice are a large part of this experience. Participants will be encouraged to actively engage with the material and complete various exercises designed to strengthen awareness and hone skills.
