The BHDD Office of Substance Use Services provides a variety of educational and professional development opportunities for professionals and the public. These sessions include everything from basic courses suitable for entry-level practitioners, to more advanced skill-building courses designed for experienced professionals.
The Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) model is a comprehensive, integrated, public health approach to the delivery of early intervention and treatment services in a healthcare setting. The primary goal of SBIRT is to identify and intervene with patients who are at a moderate or high risk for psychosocial or other healthcare problems related to their substance use.
